Ethan Lester
General Manager / Director of Golf Course Maintenance

Ethan has overseen Maryland National Golf Club's maintenance program since 2002.  During the 2005 golf season his knowlege and skills were utilized across the entire facility and he was promoted to General Manager.  Ethan came to Maryland National with ten years of experience in golf course maintenance at several different semi-private and public courses on the East coast all with diverse turf, chemical, fertilizer, and irrigation needs. In his most recent position prior to Maryland National, Ethan was a Senior Superintendent overseeing the maintenance operations for several courses in North Carolina. Ethan has been a member of the GCSAA since 1996 and holds a degree in Turfgrass Management and Applied Science in Ornamental and Landscape Design from North Carolina State.


Steve Miller
Head Golf Professional / Director of Golf

Steve has been employed at Maryland National Golf Club since May 2002.  Initially hired as one of the original Assistant Golf Professionals, Steve brings over a decade of golf management experience to Maryland National.  A graduate of Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA (B.A. History '96), Steve's began his career in golf at a high-volume municipal facility in Salt Lake City, Utah. A Class A Member of the PGA since 2005, Steve has vast experience in the areas of golf instruction, club fitting, event and tournament coordination, inventory management, facility operations, and guest services.


Sherree Lance
Director of Sales and Marketing

Sherree has been employed at Maryland National Golf Club since the Spring of 2005.  She brings a wealth of experience from several other award winning food and beverage operations.  Sherree has been employed in the industry for over 15 years and held positions ranging from a wine and spirits sales representative to her current position as food and beverage director.  She has been named a "Who's Who of Hospitality" by the Restaurant Association. 


Matt Strawsburg
Executive Chef

Matt has been the Executive Chef at Schroyer's Tavern since January 2010. Matt graduated from McDaniel College in 2007 with a BA in Business & Economics. Matt decided to put that degree to use combined with a Culinary Certification from FCC and vast personal study to pursue a career in the culinary world. With experience in many types of cuisine, his food centers around the seasons and the best products available. He also enjoys taking familiar flavors and dishes and presenting them in a way that you have never seen before. When not cooking, Matt enjoys golfing, tennis, and good music.
